
Galvanized Steels
Corus offers a full range of metallic coated steels, including hot dipped zinc or iron-zinc alloys (hot dipped galvanized) and electrolytically coated cold reduced strip with zinc coating (electrogalvanized).
The zinc presence provides the steel with a level of corrosion protection that makes it ideal for a variety of demanding applications.
Steel for Forming: Metallic coated forming steel is deep drawable, and useful in the following areas:
- automotive accessories and outer parts
- tubing and steel drums
- domestic appliances and steel furniture
- electrical goods and domestic heating
- building and construction
High Yield Qualities: Metallic coated high yield qualities are high strength steel with good forming qualities. Micro alloyed, phosphorus alloyed and bake-hardening grades are available.
The qualities are commonly used for inner and outer automotive parts because of their dent resistence, crash resistence, forming qualities, and good weldability. The qualities are also used for tubing.
Structural Steel: Galvanized structural steel has a guaranteed strenght and is commonly used for domestic appliances, steel furniture, and building applications.
Electrogalvanized Steel: Offers the versatility of cold-reduced strip combined with corrosion protection. Applications include automotive, consumer electronics, and ceiling systems.
